The Role and Enlightenment of the Archival Department in Archiving Social Media Records of Foreign Government

Abstract: The importance of archiving social media records of government has been recognized by more and more countries, and there are quite mature filing practices abroad, but domestic practice in this area is still not prominent.By searching documents and researching websites, introducing the responsibilities of the archival department in the process of archiving social media records in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.It is concluded that the archival department mainly participates in archiving social media records of government by formulating archiving policies, implementing capture files and saving archives.Combined with the archiving process of electronic records of government agencies in China, the paper puts forward the way for archival department in China to participate in archiving social media records of government.
