The Value of Postmodernism in the Theory And Practice of Contemporary Chinese Archival Science

Abstract: While postmodernism has a huge impact on western modern and contemporary philosophy, its impact on the field of archival science cannot be ignored.This article starts from many mainstream thoughts of postmodernism and considers its value in contemporary archival science theory and practice.The theoretical aspect is reflected in the post-modernist historical view, which inspired the rethinking of the originality and evidence of the archives in the electronic file period.Deconstructionism provides theoretical support for the exploration of the relationship between archives and multi-subject power.The practical aspects are reflected in the management of a single government agency and the co-governance of multiple subjects, and the importance of livelihood archive services and marginal archive construction.Postmodernism is still of great value to the theory and practice of archival science in contemporary China, which is helpful to inspire archivists' creative thinking and re-examine the traditional archival science theory.
